Wolf Calls On Lawmakers To Protect Residents From Eviction, Foreclosure

HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf will once again attempt to urge lawmakers to protect renters and homeowners from eviction and foreclosure at an event in Lancaster.

The state’s moratorium on evictions ended at the end of August and Wolf said he does not have the power to extend it again.

Wolf barred evictions and foreclosures in May, extending the moratorium in July. It expired on September 1.

Despite the CDC’s announcement of a nationwide eviction ban for many renters, additional action is needed at the state level to ensure all Pennsylvanians are protected.

“Protecting Pennsylvanians from eviction and foreclosure will ensure that families can remain in their homes and help us preserve public health,” Wolf said in a statement.
