CHAMBERSBURG – It’s been more than a year since the initial questions of whether the COVID 19 virus originated in a lab in China came out.
When people first began asking the question, they were dismissed as crackpots and conspiracy theorists.
Some even went so far as to call them xenophobes.
Now, suddenly, the kooks apparently have some kind of validity.
Attorney Clint Barkdoll, Pat Ryan and Michele Jansen discussed the Wuhan lab in China Friday morning on First News.
Barkdoll said, “There’s an intelligence report that’s out this week and there really seems to be a strong suggestion that this virus came from a lab in Wuhan. The question then becomes was it deliberately leaked? Was it accidental? These are key questions that need to be answered because not only do we need to know the answer to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again, but if the evidence is that this was deliberately leaked as some kind of attack, then the question is what is the United States and what’s the rest of the world going to do about it? We know China can’t be trusted. They’ve been totally uncooperative in providing any information.”
The turnaround from media as well as President Biden himself is fascinating.
Barkdoll said, “The US government really does need to ramp up efforts to get to the bottom of this. Biden was totally dismissive of the idea that it came from a lab during the campaign. He seems to have now had a turnabout this week saying maybe it did come from a lab, we’re going to look into it. Even the New York Times who were very dismissive of this theory, they are even now coming out with reporting saying that it really looks like there could be merit this idea that it came from a lab, not from a wet market in the Wuhan area.”
Jansen asked, “And how much did politics play a role? Obviously it did. This is horrendous. They kept labeling President Trump as hating and xenophobic. And they kept labeling conservatives and Republicans the same way. When the evidence has not changed. I heard very sound evidence of this last May and yet you were called a hater, you were dismissed as a kook. How has this not hurt the media and their credibility?”
Ryan said, “They have no credibility left.”
Jansen continued, “And Fauci. He’s changed his mind on this. Rand Paul accused him of putting the money towards this which he categorically denied now he’s saying well, yeah, the money did go there. That was in a matter of a week, a week and a half. How does that man have any credibility? How is he not being asked to step down?”
Barkdoll agreed, “The media totally dropped the ball on this last year. They were very dismissive of this. There were some Senators, Tom Cotton was one early on along with the president that said I think we need to look into this idea that the virus came from a lab. The media didn’t give it any oxygen. They just felt that this was sort of conspiracy theory. This was a way for Trump to make unfounded allegations against China. The more that intelligence officials have looked into this, it’s looking more and more like it’s very likely that this could have come from a lab. Whether this investigation yields any definitive findings remains to be seen.”
Ryan added, “I think it was John Kennedy who was asking, so you trust everything that comes from researchers in China?”
Barkdoll said, “This is the problem. I know that there’s been all this valid criticism of the WHO. We know back in January the WHO had a dozen or so investigators that went to China to try to look into this issue that we’re discussing. They were basically turned away. China would not provide them any information. They won’t turn over any data. They won’t allow anyone to be interviewed that worked in that lab. Fauci from the beginning has said well this is what china’s telling us, almost like well, whatever they say is what we should believe. I think he’s lost a lot of credibility in this discussion because to the extent a lot of government offices took his lead on this issue. It’s now looking like it may have been wrong the entire time.”
China lied and people died.
Remember that.
