Westmoreland County – PA Representative Mike Reese, R- Westomoreland/Somerset County died of an apparent brain aneurysm over the weekend according to statements put out by House GOP Leadership and posted to Reeses official House website and FaceBook page.
The statement said that he died peacefully with his family by his side Saturday afternoon at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. Reese had announced December 7th he had tested positive for Covid19 and had been quarantining at home in the week prior.
Reese was elected to the state House in 2008 and was a GOP caucus leader starting in 2019 as secretary and elected chairman in the 2020-21 session. Representative Rob Kauffman told Tristate Alert “Mike Reese was a genuinely good and decent man, devoted father and husband and a dedicated public servant. We will miss him so very greatly.”
Mike Reese was 42 and is survived by his wife, Angela, and three children.
