Waynesboro woman arrested after allegedly firing shots in the street during an argument

10 August 2023- A fight in a residential area of Waynesboro turns violent after a woman allegedly threatens and fires a handgun round during the argument. Tierra Chante Desmore failed to post bail of $50,000 after being charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor reckless endangerment, misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Police were called to the 100 block of Madison Avenue just after 10pm on August 9th for an an apparent shot fired following an argument that spilled into the street. When Waynesboro PD officers arrived they talked to the victims who said that the people involved had gone back into the apartment upstairs. Police went upstairs and found Tierra Desmore, who they allegedly stopped and checked for weapons due to the nature of the call.

Talking to Desmore, police allegedly were able to secure two hand guns and a rifle in the home. Desmore allegedly denied a shot being fired but that there was an argument about getting people to leave.

While securing the firearms, police received a call from other victims of the incident. The victims this time said they were involved in a verbal altercation with Desmore and subsequently left her home. While leaving, the argument continued into the street and culminated with Desmore firing a single round from her handgun into the air and telling the victim, “I’m going to f*** you up”.

Police canvassed the residential area and talked to multiple residents. They confirmed the general area from where the shot came from.

Desmore was then detained by police, with her allegedly admitting that she fired the gun into the air. She detailed the report, saying which gun it was from and more. Waynesboro PD officers then took her into custody without incident. While searching the home following the arrest, police allegedly for marijuana and paraphernalia for it.

Tierra Desmore is behind bars on $50,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is set for August 15th.
