02 November 2023- The Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., a 501(c)(3) Pennsylvania non-profit, received notification from the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services of their decision to allow the Volunteer Department to retain the Company 2 designation after their affiliation with the Borough of Waynesboro ends in December.
The Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department’s long affiliation with the Company 2 designation was a factor in the decision by the County. The Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department has existed for more than 140 years.
The Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department members will continue to serve the residents and businesses of the current call districts as it has for many decades as Company 2.
