22 June 2023- On 6/21/23 at about 9:45pm, officers responded to the 500 block of Dual Highway for a vehicle crash. On arrival, officers found a 2007 BMW sedan that left the eastbound travel lane and struck a tree on the south side of the road. The driver was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
He is identified as Daniel Worthy, age 22 of Waynesboro, PA. A female passenger, age 22 from Hagerstown, was also transported to Meritus Medical Center but with non life threatening injuries. An accident reconstructionist was called to the scene and the investigation into the cause of the crash is under way.
