Washington County GOP announce leadership change

17 November 2022- With Midterms (for the most part) over with and done, many organizations have begun a changing of the guard to lead into the next political cycle. Even the Democrat party has seen a change in leadership with the ending of the Pelosi speakership.

The Washington County Republican Committee has announced the resignation of Jerry DeWolf, Chairman of the Party. DeWolf served in this role since November of 2016, as well as other posts within the organization.

This year the Washington County Republican Committee served as one of the key sponsors of Neil Parrott’s unsuccessful campaign to unseat incumbent Democrat Congressman David Trone in Maryland’s 6th Congressional District. A much closer race compared to 2020’s first showdown between Trone and Parrott, new Congressional Maps seemed to make an easier path for victory for Republicans.

DeWolf’s full resignation letter, as well as goals he emphasizes the Committee should focus on in the future, is below.
