09 March 2023- The Washington County Sheriff’s Department didn’t have to go far to catch a man accused of DUI and possession of a controlled substance. That’s because the man quite literally slammed into them. Police allege that Christian Edward Cooker, 38, of Hedgesville, WV struck a parked Washington County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle, pushing the parked car into two other parked cars.
While the vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the incident, the patrol vehicle suffered significant damage, according to police.
A subsequent search of Cooker and his vehicle found him to be in possession of around 270 suspected CDS (controlled dangerous substance) pills.
Cooker is now being housed at the Washington County Detention Center and is held without bond.
