UPDATES: More charges for man accused of sexually assaulting young girl in Chambersburg for years

19 June 2024- More charges have been filed against a Chambersburg man accused of sexually assaulting and harassing children for a number of years at his home. Morris Franklin Gibson Jr was previously charged with 34 total child sex crimes back in December of 2023, with four of those charges subsequently withdrawn and replaced with two different charges. He has this week been charged with seven more felonies and one misdemeanor. Gibson is facing an additional series of charges of felony rape of a child, felony statutory sexual assault, felony unlawful contact with a minor, felony corruption of minors, three felony counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13, and misdemeanor indecent exposure. He remains behind bars on a combined bail of $1,000,000.

The most recent charges seem to be related to an alleged multi-year abuse of a seven-year-old victim that PSP believe was carried out by Gibson. This reportedly included sexually assaulting her while they were together. Additionally, Troopers say interviews with the victim and her other family who were familiar with the abuse after the fact showed Gibson would tell the victim to not tell anyone about the touching or “he would go to jail”.

Gibson is not the only person associated with this case, with his wife, Brittany Colleen Gibson being charged with a series of crimes including felony corruption of minors, assault, and child endangerment. Gibson has since posted bail of $250,000 with the help of a bondsman but is still facing the charges in Common Pleas Court in Franklin County.
