UPDATES: Harrisburg man now charged with ’22 OD death of Fayetteville man

13 May 2024- A Harrisburg man is now facing charges following the overdose death of a Fayetteville man back in 2022. Pennsylvania State Police have now charged Daquan Woods with felony drug delivery resulting in death, felony delivery of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter. Another man was previously charged with this same crime but those charges have since been withdrawn by PSP. Daquan Woods remains behind bars on $200,000 bail.

Pennsylvania State Police have been investigating the death of Dakota Rowles since he was found deceased on December 2nd, 2022, with them initially identifying someone they believed sold drugs to Rowles before the latter was found deceased as a result of mixed drug toxicity including fentanyl, heroin, oxycodone, and mitragynine (kratom).

Troopers were able to identify when Woods likely purchased drugs, which was at a gas station outside of Fayetteville the night before his death. Since that time, PSP say they conducted an investigation on Woods, in which at least two people said that they knew he sold to Rowles. Additionally, they both described the vehicle that Woods would use and phone numbers associated with him. Those text conversations seemed to identify a drug deal that happened between Woods and the victim on the night before his death.

Daquan Woods is currently incarcerated at the Franklin County Jail on $200,000 bail.
