UPDATE: PSP release preliminary investigation after Johnson Controls explosion in Waynesboro

12 June 2024- The Pennsylvania State Police have issued a preliminary report on the explosion at the Johnson Controls facility in Waynesboro on Tuesday morning.

Troopers say that just after 7:20am on June 11th, a small explosion occurred at the business. The explosion, PSP Fire Marshals say, was believed to be accidental in nature but is still under active investigation.

The machine/equipment where the explosion was/were damaged, but the rest of the structure remained unharmed.

In total, Troopers say three employees were injured. One had minor injuries, one with moderate injuries, and one with serious injuries. All three, however, were described as non-life threatening injuries.
