04 August 2022- At approximately 1134 hours a PSP Trooper initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 81 South at mile marker 56.1 in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County. Upon making contact with the vehicle the operator was identified as Hanif Malik HALL, 30 year-old-male, of Harrisburg Pennsylvania and the passenger was identified as Malik Lamar CLOVER, 31 year-old-male of Harrisburg Pennsylvania. During the traffic stop both vehicle occupants attempted to flee. 

Ultimately the occupants ran from their vehicle to the PSP marked patrol unit, entered the vehicle and fled from the traffic stop in the marked patrol unit.  Troopers in the area began to pursue the vehicle, which traveled onto the Harrisburg Pike.  The passenger, Malik CLOVER jumped out of the vehicle and ran to a nearby hotel where he was later taken into custody. After the passenger exited the stolen PSP vehicle the operator continued to flee from police.  The stolen PSP vehicle became disabled  and the operator fled from the vehicle.  The operator was shortly thereafter taken into custody. CLOVER and HALL are being charged with numerous offenses including but not limited to robbery of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding, and persons not to possess a firearm. 

Numerous police officers from several agencies including Middlesex Township, Silver Spring Township, Carlisle Borough, Newville Borough, East Pennsboro Township, North Middleton Township, and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office assisted. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. PSP Carlisle Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating.
