Two women arrested after allegedly posing as delivery drivers, stealing over $1,000 in electronics from Shippensburg Walmart

29 May 2024- Two women from Detroit, Michigan are behind bars in Cumberland County today after PSP and Shippensburg PD work to arrest them for a series of thefts. Toni Ashanay Marshall and Deja Monique Tubbs are both charged with felony retail theft of taking merchandise in excess of $1,000 and misdemeanor receiving stolen property. Marshall has also been charged with driving without a license and open container violations. Both women failed to post bail of $50,000 each.

Pennsylvania State Police were initially alerted around 5:45pm on May 28th to a retail theft in progress at the Walmart on Conestoga Drive in Shippensburg. During the theft, Troopers say that staff found two women, now identified as Toni Marshall and Deja Tubbs, posing as delivery drivers and taking numerous electronic items from the store. Loss prevention was able to identify the car and plates associated with it, which turned up a rental vehicle.

A short time later, officers from Shippensburg PD contacted PSP to let them know they had the vehicle located in the parking lot of CVS on E King Street in the borough, with the two women detained until Troopers arrived. Identified there, Troopers say that the suspect’s vehicle smelled of marijuana and had multiple Walmart bags in the rear of the vehicle as well as open containers of liquor in the passenger side door. Inside of the previously mentioned bags, Troopers say a Nintendo Switch, an Apple Watch, and other Apple electronics were all found in their original packaging.

Toni Marshall and Deja Tubbs are behind bars in Cumberland County on $50,000 bail.
