Truckers are saying no way to New York after the ruling in the Trump civil case

February 19 – Truckers for Trump are taking a stand against the New York civil case that fined Donald Trump more than $350 million by saying they will not be driving to New York City.

The judge ruled that Trump was found liable for conspiring to manipulate his net worth and order to pay the fine.

Despite that, his supporters are still behind him – especially some truckers.

A trucker posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, voicing his support for Trump in the case and saying that truckers are going to start refusing to take loads into the city as a boycott of the decision.

By Sunday, “Boycott NYC” was trending on X with more than 13,000 posts talking about it.

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM said, “We saw in Europe, where some farmers had had quite enough and started throwing manure and I’m certainly not encouraging that, but they got sick and tired of this government overreach and that led to a successful outcome for those farmers. These truckers are not to be messed with here, but it’s a danger, some might say, in holding up commerce. I’m torn either way.”

Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “I’ll be curious if this gets any traction, because if they’re independent truckers certainly they have the right to do this. If these truckers are working for another company, the company could absolutely fire them for refusing to take cargo and things into New York City. So right now it looks like there’s a handful of truckers that are on board with this. Whether it spreads to anything that would be impactful in New York City remains to be seen. I think the next few days will be very critical in this case.”
