Trio of Maryland residents arrested for stealing “thousands of dollars” of merchandise from Shippensburg Walmart

16 January 2024- Two women and one man are in jail today in Franklin County following a theft from Shippensburg’s Walmart that could have left the retailer out thousands of dollars. Krystyna Maria Dyson, Jessica Ellen Miller, and Johnny Ray Wilkes are all charged with felony receiving stolen property. Dyson is also facing a charge of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Dyson, Miller, and Wilkes are all behind bars on $25,000 bail in Franklin County.

Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were initially alerted to an active retail theft at the Walmart on Conestoga Drive, Southampton Township around 1:30pm on January 15th. While enroute to the area, Troopers were notified that the trio of suspected shoplifters had taken “several thousand dollars” worth of stolen merchandise and were leaving the property in a dark colored Toyota sedan.

Around 2pm, Troopers encountered a vehicle matching that description as well as the suspected thieves inside it near Olde Scotland Road and Leasing Drive, Southampton Twp. Pulling the vehicle over after it entered I-81, Troopers quickly saw a box shoved into the back seat that matched some of the merchandise allegedly taken. The driver, Jessica Miller, was asked for a search of the vehicle, to which she declined.

After a warrant was obtained, Troopers were able to find a several thousand dollars worth of Walmart merchandise including a Hisense Roku TV, a Mainstays heated blanket, and numerous other specific pieces from the store.

During the search, PSP Troopers say they also found a plastic bag containing two suspected “scramble” pills. Those pills, they say, were found in Dyson’s belongings.

Krystyna Dyson, Jessica Miller, and Johnny Ray Wilkes are all behind bars on $25,000 bail.
