  • 1957: Ford introduced “The Edsel” automobile – one of the biggest business flops in history
  • 1976:  Bee Gees’ ” You Should Be Dancing” hit #1 in the US
  • 1976: Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled album makes #1 a year after its release, knocking off Peter Frampton’s Frampton Comes Alive. It’s the band’s first album with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
  • 1995:  The series Xena: Warrior Princess, which starred Lucy Lawless, made its debut
  • 1998: Google officially became incorporated by two Stanford University students.

  • 2002:  Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol on FOX
  • 2006: Steve Irwin, “The Crocodile Hunter,” tragically died when he was pierced in the chest by a stingray at the age of 44
