26 July 2023- In response to the forecast for high temperatures and a high heat index at the end of the week, Franklin County Area Agency on Aging‘s Chambersburg, Greencastle and Tuscarora senior activity centers will be open for extended hours (8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28 as cooling stations.
Older Franklin County residents are also welcome to escape the heat at the county’s five other senior activity centers, which will be operating under their normal hours of operation.
Additionally, public libraries will be welcoming in those out in the heat to come in and cool off. Franklin County’s Senior Centers and their addresses along with the libraries are below.
