December 7 – If you live in Washington County, MD, and have concerns you would like your representatives to take to the state legislature, today is the day to have your voice be heard.
The Pre-Legislative Forum includes Delegates William Wivell, Neil Parrott, Brenda Thiam and Michael McKay as well as Senators Paul Corderman and George Edwards and is being held at Hagerstown Community College.
Wes Decker, Communications Officer for the City of Hagerstown said, “This is an opportunity for different groups to come before them as they are making up the Washington County delegation. There will be a Washington County day in Annapolis coming in January. So this is a chance to have a little back and forth on what the particular groups are in need of, what they want, what their concerns are.”
The groups include Washington County Public Schools, Washington County Commissioners and the City of Hagerstown.
A public forum will be heard between 5 and 6 p.m. tonight where citizens may come and voice their concerns to the representatives.
Decker said, “All of those presentations and discussions will be open to the public throughout the course of the day.”
