The strife in the Middle East is getting worse

April 15 – Over the weekend, Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles into Israel in response to an alleged Israeli airstrike last month that destroyed the Iranian consulate in Syria.

Israel is saying about 99% of the missiles were intercepted.

This is the first time Iran launched a direct military assault on Israel, despite the many decades of unrest.

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM insisted, “This is Biden. This is Obama. These are the pallets full of money. This is loosening up the waivers on sanctions and we are weak, we are woke, and Joe rattles off the ‘don’t.’ That’s his big lecture and it didn’t do anything and now they’re blaming the guy that had Iran on the ropes here. Fetterman’s coming out and saying that the Biden administration’s gotten it mostly all wrong here. I don’t know what to take away from this other than here goes your gas prices again. The instability and more exposure for the United States out of this disaster of a presidency.”

Attorney Clint Barkdoll said, “This is a very serious situation and the next day or two or three will be very critical. The Iron Dome prevented (the missiles) from coming into Israel. The US was involved in taking a lot of those out and I want to give a hat tip to our friends at Letterkenny Army Depot. The reporting is that the Patriot missile systems were deployed that intercepted a lot of these Iranian missiles and of course Letterkenny is very instrumental in those systems.”

Where this will go is incredibly unclear.

Barkdoll continued, “Netanyahu, they’re meeting to say that Israel may now do their own retaliation against Iran. Biden reportedly called Netanyahu and said take this as a win. None of these missiles got into the country and caused damage, let it go. While this was happening, Hezbollah, Lebanon, they launched their own offensive into Israel, and some of this that’s happening was the fear going back to last October when Hamas went into Israel, killed all those innocent people at that music festival, could this escalate into some kind of a regional skirmish with Iran and Lebanon and then at some point, does that pull in the United States and other countries around the world? That’s why this is such a serious and very volatile situation.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM pointed out, “I think it speaks volumes for the horrible way that this administration has been treating this whole thing. They thought they could mollify the mullahs by giving them some breaks on these sanctions but they turned around spat right back into the faces of the United States by saying, oh, we’re going to use this money anyway we want and to deny the fungibility of these funds to use them for just more ways to make more weapons to attack Israel and to build up their own forces is just absurd to me. This was a no hold barred attack on the civilian population. They weren’t trying to take out, like the Israelis did, definite military targets they just attacked en masse. Yes, the defense missiles, that all worked great, but if you don’t have some kind of response, it just encourages more of these attacks from Iran and its proxies. I think it’s hard not to see the danger there and I don’t understand how they can just blithely say no, it’s a win and don’t do anything more.”

Barkdoll suggested, “No doubt that’s what Netanyahu and his defense cabinet are assessing. Do they now retaliate against Iran? Fetterman was doing the interviews over the weekend and again, he’s breaking from Biden, saying that Israel should absolutely have the right to do what they need to do and that includes full backing from the US with no conditions whatsoever. He really has emerged as Israel’s biggest proponent in the US Senate, but this is obviously a very delicate situation because we can imagine the scenarios. Let’s say Israel launches missiles or an attack into Iran today. Well, then, does China get involved and Russia supports the Iranians? And then does that break out into other things around the world? We can envision where this will just keep going on and on. So I think the next 24 to 72 hours are very critical.”
