The Pennsylvania budget will be unveiled tomorrow

February 5 — Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro will present his budget address at noon tomorrow.

There have been a few details dribbled out here and there over the last few weeks, but tomorrow we will see the whole shebang.

One of the ideas is to get a semester tuition at certain state universities down to $1,000.

Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM wondered, “Are we moving money around to pay for this newfound money? I mean, how on earth are you going to pay these PhD salaries? How are you going to keep the infrastructure going? How are you going to keep these buildings up? Where’s the money gonna come from? I mean, is he taking a page out of Congress, and their playbook? I know we’ll hand out $180 billion. I don’t know where it’s coming from. But we’re just gonna hand it out. Wee!”

Attorney Clint Barkdoll agreed, “That’s the big question. How do you do it without massive tax increases or massive cuts? Which he doesn’t seem to be indicating either. So it’ll be very interesting to see what that looks like.”

Michele Jansen of NewsTalk 103.7FM added, “On top of horrendous inflation, I love how Biden’s out on the trail right now saying we have the lowest inflation of any developed country in the world. What a scam the way they cherry pick certain statistics to try to make things look good forgetting we’re already paying this very high inflation that’s not going down, by the way, even if the rate of inflation has come down a little bit.”

Ryan said, “Don’t forget about shrinkflation. I heard the overnight guys going. I used to get six in a pack normally, now getting four in a pack. With shrinkflation, we can all see that happening. Or can we all see that? It’ll catch you eventually here.
