On July 2, 1776, the Second Continental Congress voted to approve the resolution of independence freeing the United States of America (the 13 original colonies) from the rule of Great Britain.
The Declaration of Independence was then crafted to explain the decision. It was approved on July 4.
Celebrations across the nation involving fireworks and food and other festivities occur on July 4 every year to commemorate this historic event.
At News Talk 103.7FM, we’ve provided you with a list of local fireworks. Find your town and follow the links so you can take part in the festivities.
We wish all of our listeners and friends a safe and happy 4th of July.
