Start the year off right and conquer those fitness goals with the Hub City 100 Miler Challenge

05 January 2024- The secret to getting ahead in the New Year, is getting started! The kickoff of the 11th annual Hub City 100 Miler Challenge is now just one week away and counting. This 100-day program starts January 12 and runs through April 20, encouraging and rewarding participants to get and remain active by setting a goal to either walk one mile or exercise 20 minutes each day.

Registered “100 Milers” will receive weekly e-newsletters offering motivation, inspiration, ways to get your miles in, opportunities to get connected and stay active, while eligible to win weekly and grand prizes over 14 weeks. Visit the program website at www.hagerstownmd.org/hubcity100 to view the list of incredible prize incentives and register today.

The Hub City 100 Miler program is open to anyone in the community and beyond. You don’t have to live in the City of Hagerstown to register and participate! The program is self-reporting so each individual is responsible for keeping track of his or her own progress. The ultimate goal is to move your body one mile a day for 100 days. The program is adaptable to any age or fitness level from beginner to advanced.

Registration will remain open through January 31 and is $10, or $20 with a t-shirt and $25 with a long-sleeve t-shirt.  Anyone who registers has the chance to win grand prizes like men’s and women’s sport fitness bikes, a kayak, fitness sessions, golf and pool passes, and so much more!

On Friday, January 12 at 5pm, the program officially kicks off and 100 Milers are encouraged to walk the first mile together at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown. Come early starting at 3:30pm to visit with local health and fitness vendors in the Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park and start your 100-day journey off on the right foot! Attending the kickoff is not a requirement of the program. On Friday evening and Saturday morning, 100 Milers will also have the opportunity to earn their first mile(s) by participating in free fitness classes virtually and/or in person.
