WAYNESBORO – Longtime mayor Richard Starliper was honored by the Pennsylvania State Mayor’s Association with the Albert N. “Abbie” Montecalvo Award award Friday.
The award was named after longtime Lewis Run borough official, Abbie Montecalvo, who passed away after serving 16 terms as mayor.
Starliper was elected as Waynesboro’s mayor in 2005 after serving on borough council for 14 years.
He is a former member of the Waynesboro Borough Authority and remains active in statewide associations for mayors.
