11 June 2024- A Franklin County woman is facing felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges after a 1am stabbing in a moving vehicle over the weekend. Ramona Marie Celestine is facing charges of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault, and two summary charges of harassment from an incident on June 7th. Celestine remains behind bars on $15,000 bail.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to the 2500 block of Country Road in Guilford Township around 1am on Friday for a reported stabbing. When Troopers arrived, they found a woman with a stab wound to the right forearm. Wellspan EMS quickly responded to treat the victim, while police began an investigation.

An interview with the victim allegedly saw that she was in the back seat of the moving vehicle with Celestine in the front passenger seat. Celestine was reportedly upset with the driver and the victim, the latter said, after being told they would not take her to her home in Shippensburg, so she grabbed a knife from a kitchen block located in the car and stabbed the victim.

Celestine herself was interviewed by PSP, with her reportedly telling them that she stabbed the victim because the victim had grabbed her by the hair and hit her with a cane. Additionally, Celestine reportedly said that she “stuck the knife in the grill because she did not want to go to jail”. PSP say that they found a kitchen knife matching the one used in the alleged stabbing outside of the home the vehicle stopped at inside of a grill.

The driver was interviewed, as well, with her allegedly saying that Celestine became agitated when they decided to not stop for cigarettes nor take Celestine to her home in Shippensburg. This is when, according to PSP’s interview with the driver, Celestine starting hitting her with a closed fist while she was actively driving. After pulling into a driveway, Celestine allegedly stabbed the victim in the knife.

Ramona Celestine remains behind bars on $15,000 bail.
