27 September 2023- Say cheese (or keep out of its way!) as the Google Street View car is spotted off Molly Pitcher Highway today. The extremely popular and international feature by the tech giant is notable because of the wrapped and painted cars they use to gather billions and billions of photographs of streets to create a 360° view of neighborhoods, highways, and everything in between. Our spotters found the vehicle between Chambersburg and Shippensburg in the midafternoon near Green Village.
Google says their Street View cars and cameras “provide a virtual representation of our surroundings on Google Maps”. The panoramic imagery “helps you know where to go and what to expect when traveling”.
