Shots fired in Shippensburg under investigation

August 22 – Around 2:30 a.m. this morning, an unknown assailant shot at two men near the 200 block of N. Queen Street in Shippensburg.

The two men fired back, with multiple rounds fired, some of which hit a residence on North Queen Street, causing interior damage. The residence was occupied by students at Shippensburg University, who apparently fled the scene.

At 3 a.m. a 20-year-old man was admitted and treated at UPMC Carlisle for a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The man admitted to being shot in Shippensburg and is not a college student.

No arrests have been made, but this is still an ongoing investigation. The location of this shooting is about 20 yards from the scene of a homicide in October 2019.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper John Boardman of the Pennsylvania State Police at 717-249-2121.
