22 August 2023- A midday confrontation at a home earlier this month leads to multiple felony charges for a Shippensburg man. Elmar King Talbot is charged with felony strangulation, felony robbery, felony burglary, felony criminal trespassing, misdemeanor assault, summary disorderly conduct, and summary criminal mischief. Talbot failed to post bail of $50,000.
Police were called to a home in the Town Mills Mobile Home Park around 3:40pm on August 15th for a reported disturbance. Police spoke to the victim, who told them that Talbot was knocking aggressively on her door when she opened it. Talbot was reportedly irate, causing a disturbance because he believed she “was having sex with the plumber”.
The incident escalated as Talbot threw a metal dog bowl and kicked over some lawn ornaments. The victim tried to close the door on him, but Talbot allegedly pushed he way in a began putting his hands on her neck/chest area. Talbot allegedly told the victim “this is what you wanted for me to get locked up” before taking her cell phone and credit card.
Troopers say that Talbot let go of the victim before leaving the home and fleeing towards Middle Spring Avenue. The victim also told police that Talbot had not lived at the residence since July 9th, with the victim going so far as to change the locks.
Elmar Talbot is behind bars on $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for August 30th.
