10 February 2023- Chambersburg PD quickly apprehended a man they say threw a rock and a brick through windows of the Cottage Pub and Restaurant in the borough. Shane Reed Faust is charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor criminal mischief. He’s behind bars on $25,000 in Franklin County.
Police responded to the Cottage Pub on Wayne Avenue in the borough around 12:20am on February 10th to reports of a disturbance. Witnesses at the restaurant say that a man had thrown a rock through the front window of the establishment and a brick through a window on the south side of the building. Both of the windows shattered, with the brick damaging a graphic sign. Witnesses said the perpetrator was a white male with a beanie and a black hoodie. Multiple bar and restaurant patrons were almost hit by the objects, as well as multiple being hit by the subsequent broken glass.
The suspect, then identified as Shane Faust, was found about three blocks away from the restaurant while he was allegedly running through a parking lot. Faust was still wearing the outfit witnesses said the perpetrator was wearing.
Faust is behind bars on $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for February 21st.
