03 October 2023- A scammer is calling community members stating he is SGT Chris Weaver from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The scammer claims the community member missed court and will have a warrant unless they pay him.
In a statement, WCSO says they “can guarantee SGT Chris Weaver is enjoying his retirement and not calling community members.”
Remember, law enforcement will not ask for payment over the phone to avoid issuing court paperwork. Please report all scams to your relevant authorities.
