Rouzerville man behind bars on charges of extensive threats, assault against partner

23 October 2023- A Waynesboro area man is looking at multiple charges following a domestic incident involving a sexually charged letter. Joseph Walter Weakfall is charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary harassment. Weakfall failed to post bail of $75,000 and is behind bars at Franklin County Jail.

Washington Township PD were dispatched to a home on Broad Street for a reported active domestic involving a male and female. When police arrived, they allegedly talked to a woman that called 911. She showed police text messages allegedly from her neighbor that involved physical violence accusations and threats of violence.

Officers then talked with someone on scene (it is unclear due to redactions in filings) who reportedly told police that Joseph Weakfall had pushed the victim into the bathroom door and threatened her with physical violence and death. This was all reportedly in relation to a letter found by Weakfall earlier in the day as well as the fact the accused had been drinking heavily prior to the reported assault. WTPD say that Weakfall had a past domestic history.

Officers then spoke to Weakfall, with him allegedly admitting to some of the comments made by him that were threats as well as confirmed the letter’s figuring into the incident. Police do say, however, that Weakfall denied becoming violent towards the victim. He was subsequently arrested by police, during which they reportedly found a marijuana pipe on his person resulting in the drug charge.

Joseph Weakfall is behind bars on $75,000. His preliminary hearing is set for October 31st.
