Mike Ross, president of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation, with a breaking story.
February 12 – Hotel, restaurant and even possibly convenience store owners can apply for more than $1.7 million in relief funds coming through the county from the state soon.
Franklin County hospitality business owners are urged to consider applying for grant money to cover their losses during COVD.
Mike Ross, president of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation, said, “If you have an NAICS code that starts with 72, you are potentially eligible for this grant.”
He said anyone with questions should send an email to chirpgrant@fcadc.com
“We’ve been working very closely with the county commissioners and staff to put together an application and guidelines,” Ross said. “We want to get this rolled out hopefully sometime in early March. We want to get this right more than we want to get it fast.”
Business owners who send contact information to the email above will be included in all upcoming information about dates and times to apply.
“The governor signed this on Monday,” Ross said. “There are very strict timelines to get this money out. It’s coming out of Workers Compensation funds. It’s not Cares money. We’re going to roll it out correctly.”
One qualifier for the grant is a business has to have 300 or fewer employees worldwide.
