[WAYNESBORO, PA] Renfrew Museum and Park will host its annual Christmas on the Farm
holiday event on Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4, 2021.

Renfrew invites visitors to “Walk Back in Time” through over 200 years of tradition on its historic Pennsylvania German farmstead and rediscover the simple joys of Christmas Past with a memorable experience this holiday season!
Follow the soft glow of flickering lanterns and the fiery blaze of torches to the 1812 Royer
House where you’ll encounter period-attired interpreters who’ll share how treasured traditions
evolved throughout various periods in American history. Enjoy room after room of authentic
furnishings, antiques, and decorative arts from our collection enhanced by historic holiday
décor. Tours last about 20 minutes and photographs are encouraged!
Explore the farmstead, illuminated with twinkling white lights, along with some of Renfrew’s
outbuildings for historic demonstrations including hearth cooking and blacksmithing. And keep
a look out for Belsnickel, or “Nicholas in Furs”, that beloved folk figure of Pennsylvania Dutch
lore. Be on your best behavior – you’ll never know when he’ll appear!
Get cozy around the warming circle, take a horse-drawn wagon ride up and down Fahnestock
Lane, or grab a bite from The Sloppy Hog food truck. Guests can also step out of the chill into
the festive atmosphere inside our Visitors Center where even more family fun awaits. Peruse
the gallery, then browse Renfrew’s museum shop and Christkindlmarkt for that special gift. This
year’s vendors offer something for everyone from handmade pottery to home décor, fiber art,
jewelry, vintage Christmas items, antiques, and more. You’re sure to find something unique!
Admission also includes live musical performances by violinist Scott Matlock at select times
from the second story porch of the Royer House, as well as historically-inspired crafts for all
ages. Guests may choose from three different “make-and-take” or “take-and-make” craft kits
including mini button wreaths, orange pomanders, and Victorian scrap art ornaments.
This event will be held rain or shine, and is designed to be indoor-outdoor with limited
occupancy permitted within buildings at any given time. Please dress warmly and comfortably
for prolonged periods outdoors. Guests are encouraged to stagger their arrival and may enter
at any point during the scheduled event time on their chosen date. A period of about two hours
is recommended to fully enjoy all planned activities.
