Public’s help needed as investigation continues for Christmas Day fire in Newburg

29 December 2023- A Christmas Day fire is currently under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police’s Fire Marshal Unit.

Fire, EMS, and PSP were alerted just after 3:45pm on December 25th to a fire on E Main Street, Newburg Borough. The fire eventually designated a two alarm fire.

The sole occupant of the residence, a 69 year old Newburg man, was not home at the time of the fire. The structure sustained significant damage to the interior of the home, with an adjoining residence sustaining smoke damage to the inside of it. That adjoining residence had occupants inside of it at the time of the fire.

PSP says that nobody was injured as a result of the fire, occupants, firefighters, or otherwise. Anyone with information in this incident should contact the investigating Fire Marshal at 717-567-3110 or PSP Carlisle at 717-249-2121.
