12 February 2024- A 38 year old McConnellsburg man stands accused of providing two young, teenage girls alcohol and drugs as well as potentially trying to pressure them into sexual acts. Wayne Leonard Muenzing is charged with two felony counts of possession with distribution of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, two misdemeanor counts of furnishing liquor to a minor, misdemeanor indecent assault of a person less than 16, and one count of felony corruption of minors. Muenzing is behind bars in Bedford County via Fulton County on a bail of $20,000.
Pennsylvania State Police were contacted on New Years Day of 2024 by a woman who alleged that her step-daughter was at her friend’s home with Wayne Muenzing, in which he had given the girls prescription drugs and alcohol.
Initial interviews reportedly saw the 13 year old victim tell the story of New Years Eve 2023, with her showing up to 38 year old Wayne Muenzing’s home with friend around 11pm. The man then allegedly plied the two young teens with Johny Bootlegger and Fireball alcohol, with this then progressing to Xanax and Percocet. The prescription drugs were reportedly consumed in their crushed form by snorting them through a straw.
While this was happening, the victim alleged that Muenzing tried to “make out with” her and prompted her to “come in here and I will tell you”. Over the course of the night, the victim also alleged that she walked out of the kitchen and saw Muenzing on the couch without pants on but his hands covering himself. Walking back into the kitchen, the victim reportedly told her friend what she saw but Muenzing had his pants back on by the time they reentered the living room.
Troopers were able to obtain videos off the victim’s phone of them drinking alcoholic beverages consistent with what had been previously alleged, as well as pictures of a glass frame with a powdered substance on it next to a prescription bottle.
Both underage victims were taken to Chambersburg Hospital for urine analysis drug tests, to which one of them came back negative for prescription drugs. The other victim, however, showed positive results for benzodiazepine (Xanax) and oxycodone (Percocet).
Muenzing was interviewed some days later, with him allegedly admitting to police that he provided alcohol to the girls but he did not “physically give” them any drugs. Police say that at one point in the interview, he said that he told the two victims “if they take some without him seeing it, then he wouldn’t know it occurred”. As for sexual comments, PSP say Muenzing denied making any sexual comments or acts toward the two victims. The age of one of the victims is known to be 13, but the age of the other is not explicit in court filings.
Wayne Muenzing failed to post bail of $20,000 and is behind bars in Bedford County via Fulton County.
