PSP say 21 year old Waynesboro man is dead following Sunday night crash

24 June 2024- Pennsylvania State Police say that a 21 year old is dead following a crash just around 8pm on Sunday night. Troopers have named 21 year old Benjamin Browall of Waynesboro as having suffered a fatal injury during the crash last night.

The crash, Troopers say, occurred in the area of Old Forge Road near the Waynesboro Watershed in Quincy Township around 8pm on Sunday, with a 2002 Subaru driving southbound near the Waynes Bir Road. The vehicle, investigators say, crossed over the white dog line, continuing until it struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn. The car reportedly continued to roll until it struck another tree.

Troopers say that the driver, a 23 year old Waynesboro man, was able to extricate himself from the vehicle under his own power through the back windshield before fleeing the scene to get help from a passing motorist. This man was taken to Waynesboro Hospital for serious injuries suffered during the crash. His passenger, Benjamin Browall, was pronounced deceased after he was ejected from the vehicle.

At this time, the status of the driver has not been made available, nor a reason for the crash. PSP have announced that the crash is under investigation and a primary violation is being investigated as Driving On Roadways Laned For Traffic.
