PSP Roundup: Three car crash at Lincoln Way East and I-81 caused by impaired driver

20 November 2023- Pennsylvania State Police say that a multicar pileup on Friday evening in Franklin County was the result of a drunk driver.

Police, Fire and EMS were called to I-81NB at mile marker 16, the onramp to the interstate, around 6:45pm on Friday. The driver of a 2016 Jeep Compass was exiting the interstate onto the surface road at the same time the driver of a 2015 Nissan Murano was, as well. While the two vehicles were stopped at the intersection, a 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 32 year old Chambersburg woman failed to stop and crashed directly into the two vehicles.

The driver of the Wrangler, who’s name has not been released, was subsequently arrested by PSP on charges of suspicion of DUI. All three vehicles were able to be driven from the scene of the crash.


A number of convenience store items were reported stolen by Sheetz in Greencastle after an incident last week. Police were informed of a retail theft at the gas station and shop at 45 Antrim Commons Drive, Antrim Township that occurred around 8:10am on November 16th.

Police say that two unknown women took a ham breakfast sandwich, a Hostess cupcake, a pack of crispy apple pie bars, a mountain dew, a chocolate milk quart, and a bag of BBQ chips.

Troopers say that the women removed the items and fled without paying. They are currently investigating the incident.


PSP Troopers are saying that a 14 year old Mercersburg boy is looking at a citation following significant damage to a privacy fence inside the Borough.

Police have not named the teen, but say he damaged a privacy wooden fence valued at $150 sometime around 11:30am on November 18th.

The teen was given a non-traffic citation for criminal mischief.
