PSP Roundup: Stolen truck out of McConnellsburg, $75,000 check fraud, more

20 June 2024- A Warfordsburg woman is facing DUI charges after police allegedly find her vehicle disabled on the side of the roadway. Troopers say they were called to the area around Great Cove Road in Bethel Township around 10:30pm on May 10th for a disabled motorist off the roadway. When they checked on this individual, Troopers say they found Brooke Watson, 33, of Warfordsburg under the influence of alcohol with her vehicle. She has since been charged with suspicion of DUI by alcohol.


DUI Charges are being levied against a 23 year old Three Springs, PA man after a traffic stop in McConnellsburg last month. Troopers say that around 4:15am on May 18th, they pulled over a 1986 Chevy C/K 1500 in the 500 block of E Poplar Street in McConnellsburg for traffic violations. That driver, Shawn Montgomery, was arrested for DUI on a controlled substance as well as possession of marijuana.


A white Ford F350 is being investigated as stolen from a location on Great Cove Road in Bethel Township earlier this month. Troopers say that sometime before 6am on June 14th, someone stole a vehicle with PA plates of ZVA7528. Anyone with information on the incident should contact PSP McConnellsburg.


PSP in Chambersburg are investigating the theft of over $75,000 through an unauthorized check. Troopers say they were dispatched to a location on Nitterhouse Drive in Guilford Township around 12:15pm on May 16th for a reported forgery/counterfeiting. It was revealed, PSP say, that a fraudulent check was cashed, causing the theft of $75,004.34 from a 93 year old Pella, Iowa woman. PSP continue to investigate the incident.


PSP are looking for the public’s help after an April theft from a vehicle. Troopers say that they responded to a location on Dymond Avenue in Greene Township around 4:15pm on April 23rd for a theft. When they arrived, they found that a spot light valued at $220, about $50 worth of tools, and a $120 cooler were taken from the bed of a truck. PSP continue to invesigate.


A Greencastle man is facing charges following a DUI crash on June 4th in Antrim Township. Troopers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Castlegreen Drive around 4:20am on June 4th for a crash. Over the course of the investigation, Troopers charged 21 year old Brandon Stiner with DUI of alcohol. Charges were subsequently filed.
