26 May 2023- Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg Barracks, are investigating a reported retail theft at the Ulta Beauty on Lincoln Way East, Guilford Township. The incident on May 13th around 3:41 allegedly saw perfumes and personal hygiene items stolen from the store. The total amount of items stolen came in, according to PSP, at $2853.77.
A Shippensburg woman is charged with retail theft after allegedly being found to take $78.70 worth of merchandise from a Dollar General in Greene Township. Police say that Tara Beam, 30, of Shippensburg took the items by concealing them on May 25th around 10:59am. The Dollar General in question is located on Philadelphia Avenue. Beam “was found to conceal $78.70 worth of merchandise with the intention of depriving the merchant and attempted to pass all points of sale”.
On May 18th, Pennsylvania State Police became aware of an alleged theft from a 73 year old victim by her grandchild. Police say that between Jan 1 and May 18th, $17,376.61 had been taken from the McConnellsburg based victim by theft by credit/ATM card. PSP continue to investigate.
PSP McConnellsburg is again reminding residents of at least one sobriety checkpoint within Fulton County during the Month of May, most likely around the Memorial Day Holiday. The checkpoint will be conducted in areas with a high potential for DUI drivers to further curb drugged and drunk driving and remove impaired operators from the roadways. They are not releasing the exact areas of where they will conduct the checkpoints other than just across Fulton County.
