08 July 2024- PSP are investigating a reported criminal mischief at the Staples location in Greencastle. Troopers were called to the Staples warehouse on Antrim Commons Drive around 8:15pm on June 29th for a call regarding trespassing. During the investigation, Troopers determined that an unknown person or persons damaged master locks and a fence, valued at $100 and $300, respectively, before trespassing on the property.

That person or persons fled in an unknown direction. PSP continue to investigate, and anyone with information on the incident should contact PSP Chambersburg.

A Greencastle business is being cited for false alarms to police after Troopers were called to a general contractor’s building on Waynecastle Road on July 4th. Troopers say that they were called to the building owned by a contractor around 2am on July 4th and it was determined to be a false alarm. That was the 4th false alarm activated that PSP had responded to in a 12 year period, according to investigators. The business was cited accordingly.

A Chambersburg man is facing DUI charges after an arrest last month on Lincoln Way East. PSP say they conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Volvo C70 driven by Jason Halsey, 46, of Chambersburg around 8:30pm on June 21st for summary violations.

An investigation allegedly found Halsey to be under the influence of both alcohol and a controlled substance. He was subsequently arrested and released, but charges have since been filed against him.
