PSP Roundup: $20k stolen from Greencastle woman, theft of guns from vehicles, more

28 December 2023- Pennsylvania State Police are just now releasing information about an alleged theft involving tens of thousands of dollars stolen from an elderly victim. Troopers were called to a home on Buchanan Trail East in Antrim Township in November, with it eventually being determined that sometime between 8am on November 11th and November 28th someone had taken $20,000 from a 76 year old victim.

Exactly how this money was taken from the victim is unclear, but anyone with information on the incident should contact PSP Chambersburg, reference case number PA 2023-1590223.


PSP are looking for information from the public as it relates to a string of thefts from vehicles on Mercersburg Road, Montgomery Township, Franklin County.

Troopers say that sometime between 8pm on November 30th and 5:41am on December 30th, someone took multiple items from vehicles belonging to Greencastle residents. Items taken from the cars include a key for a Chevy Camaro, valued at $300, and a Springfield Arms Savage 7mm bolt action rifle, valued at $500.

There are no suspects associated with the investigation anyone with knowledge of this incident should contact PSP-Chambersburg, reference case number PA 2023-1572866.


An investigation continues by PSP following an apparent attempted burglary in Guilford Township earlier this month. Troopers were dispatched to a home on Downey Drive around 11:20pm on December 18th for a possible burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, Troopers cleared the scene and were able to determine that the incident was actually a criminal mischief. An unknown person was found to have broken a window in the back part of the house and fled in an unknown direction. There was no attempt to gain entry into the residence and there are no suspects at this time.
