28 July 2023- Pennsylvania State Police and EMS were dispatched to 2300 block of Path Valley Road around 3:30pm on July 26th for a serious one car accident.
Police say a Mercersburg man failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway while traveling southbound before his Suzuki Boulevard motorcycle fell off the roadway and through the end of a driveway. The bike then struck a rock and became airborne, flipping end over end before coming to a rest following more barrel rolls. The man was thrown from his motorcycle and was found unconscious with shallow breathing by first responders. He was then airlifted to Wellspan York Hospital with serious injuries. As of time of publication he is still alive.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the theft of nearly 50 tools from a Chambersburg area construction site. Police say that between July 11th and 12th, a person forced entry into a locked cargo trailer on a construction site on Summer Breeze Lane, Greene Township. After breaking into the trailer, the person stole 48 tools with a total value of $14,935. Police continue to investigate.
Following an investigation on Heintzelman Avenue, Hamilton Township, police say they have charged a woman with false reports to police. Troopers were dispatched around 3:15am on July 21st for a shooting.
Police say that during the investigation, Kimberly Smith, 27, of Chambersburg, was being officially interviewed by police about the shooting. Smith allegedly later admitted to police that she gave them a false name and DOB due to her having unpaid traffic tickets. She was subsequently charged with the misdemeanor crime of false reports or statements to law enforcement.
