29 January 2023- A crash at Five Forks Road and Wayne Highway in Quincy Township on Friday was described as fatal by Pennsylvania State Police. Authorities say that Brandon J Rock of Waynesboro was killed after a head on collision at the intersection around 5:30pm. Rock was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 43.
Pennsylvania State Police say that a first vehicle, a 2021 Chevy Silverado, was stopped at the intersection of Wayne Highway and Five Forks Road. Rock was traveling south on Wayne Highway in a 1988 Plymouth Voyager when the stopped vehicle began to pull out into the intersection and turn left onto Wayne Highway. This created a head on collision, with the cars becoming entrapped. The operator of the turning car was transported to Meritus Medical Center for minor injuries by ambulance.
As of right now the driver of the the Chevy Silverado, Wesley C Hurd of Waynesboro, has been initially charged with stop signs and yield signs violations.
