23 October 2023- The Pennsylvania State Police Troop H– Chambersburg is investigating a theft/fraud incident that occurred on 09/29/2023 at approximately 1656 hours.
The two pictured Black male suspects entered the Lowe’s on Lincoln Way East in Chambersburg, Guilford Township, Franklin County.
They inserted a Visa gift card into the register’s chip reader but asked the cashier to enter the sales amount and process as a cash transaction, resulting in no payments being applied to the card. The suspects conducted the same scam three times, fraudulently purchasing gift cards, paint brushes, and other miscellaneous items totaling nearly $1,300.
The suspects departed the store with the stolen merchandise at approximately 1705 hours and fled the parking lot in the pictured dark-colored Jeep SUV.
