Police ID victim in fatal Tuesday crash on Falling Spring Road

31 January 2024- Pennsylvania State Police say that one person is deceased following a vehicle crash on Falling Spring Road on 1/30, the second fatal crash of the day.

According to PSP reconstruction, a black Jeep Renegade was traveling southbound on Falling Spring Road, with a silver Volvo S60 and a silver Lincoln Town Car were traveling northbound on the same road around the area of Briar Lane. A reason is unclear in initial reports, but police say that the Jeep crossed into the other lane of traffic and sideswiped the Volvo’s door. This action caused the Jeep to turn and hit the Lincoln head on.

Troopers say that the driver of the Jeep was extricated from their car by responding fire fighters and was flown to Holy Spirit Hospital for suspected internal injuries. The driver of the Volvo was evaluated by EMS on scene and was medically cleared.

The driver of the Town Car, however, was given life saving measures by EMS responding to the car. That driver, Rodney Sebring of Chambersburg, was transported to Chambersburg Hospital by Fayetteville EMS but was later pronounced deceased.

PSP Chambersburg was assisted by Chambersburg EMS, Fayetteville EMS, and Fayetteville Fire at the crash.
