Pennsylvania State Police Investigating Robberies in Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG –    On October 30, 2021 at approximately 4:15AM, PSP Carlisle was notified of a Robbery that occurred near the intersection of Coy Avenue and Rotz Avenue, Shippensburg Township, Shippensburg PA, Cumberland County.

During the robbery, the 3 victims (1 male, 2 female) were walking northeast on Coy Avenue when they were approached from multiple directions by a group of 6-8 males wearing dark colored clothing, masks, and gloves. One of the female victims attempted to intervene and was pushed to the ground by one of the actors, dropping her phone in the process. At the conclusion of the assault, the actors took the male victim’s phone from his pocket and the female victim’s phone from the ground before fleeing the area. The male victim sustained significant injuries and was treated at the hospital.

     PSP Carlisle is investigating a similar assault which occurred on 10/23/2021 at approximately 2030 hours. During this assault, the male victim was walking southeast in the area of 217 High Street, Shippensburg Township, Shippensburg PA, Cumberland County, when he observed a group of 5-6 males wearing masks and blue gloves approach him, coming from a nearby alley. They asked where he was going before assaulting him. He was struck repeatedly in the face, losing unconsciousness. The actors assaulted the victim into a brush/wooded area nearby and stole his shorts, shoes, wallet and cell phone before fleeing the area.

     Shippensburg Police Department is investigating a similar robbery which occurred on 10/17/21 at approximately 0200 hours in which the victim was assaulted, robbed, and clothing was taken.

     These incidents have been reported to Crime Stoppers and tips may be submitted at or (800)-472-8477.
