Pedestrian Hit – CPD Roundup

CHAMBERSBURG – Saturday, 20 April 2024, at 11:55 AM, the Chambersburg Police Department responded to the intersection of North Main St. & West King St. for a pedestrian accident.

A male working traffic control for Fountain Fest was struck by a vehicle that was turning from North Main St onto West King St. The male was taken to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries. Borough Manager Stonehill later posted on X, the individual was in stable condition.

On 19 April 2024 at 3:15 PM, the Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to the rail trail between South Main St. and West South St. for a third party caller reporting a male being assaulted.

At that time, no was located in the area who had been involved. At 4:55 PM, the Chambersburg Police Department was dispatched to an address in the 200 block of E McKinley St for a disturbance. It was determined that the family of the male who had been assaulted went to the house of one of the suspects. The victim reported that he had been assaulted with a wooden dowel while on the rail trail by two juvenile suspects known to him.

The victim sustained bodily injury and his cell phone was taken during the altercation. The two juvenile suspects were located and identified. Juvenile allegations were filed against both suspects for criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and robbery. One of the male suspects was lodged in a placement facility by Franklin County juvenile probation. This was an isolated incident with the suspects known to the victim prior to the incident, and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
