PA to honor Operation Inherent Resolve with new license plates

28 June 2024- House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) Thursday applauded Senate passage of House Bill 73, legislation introduced by Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin), who is currently deployed in the Horn of Africa with his Pennsylvania Army National Guard infantry unit.

House Bill 73 would create a specialty license plate recognizing those who served in “Operation Inherent Resolve,” the military campaign tasked with defeating Islamic State (commonly called ISIS or ISIL) terrorists in Syria, Iraq and Libya.

When he introduced the bill, Kerwin said he wanted to recognize brave veterans who served in defense of our country during Operation Inherent Resolve.

“While Rep. Kerwin continues to serve his country deployed in combat operations in Africa, I am glad to see the Senate unanimously pass this legislation that furthers his continued legacy of honoring and promoting our active-duty military, veterans and their families,” Cutler said.

House Bill 73 now heads to Gov. Josh Shapiro’s desk.
