ADAMS COUNTY, PA – Friday, 13 January 2023, at approximately 3:43 p.m., PA State Police Gettysburg Troopers were on scene at a fatal crash investigation (15 SB at Mountain Rd., Latimore Township) when a black Nissan Sentra drove around barricades and nearly struck a fire police officer who was outside his vehicle directing traffic. PSP Troopers attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle which failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit the vehicle rammed two marked PSP Patrol Units. The pursuit was terminated via a precision immobilization technique (PIT maneuver) and the operator was successfully taken into custody without further incident.
The operator was identified as Edward Louis Willingham from Sapulpa, OK.
Willingham was flown to York Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
No Troopers were injured during this incident.
