One person arrested after alleged attempted burglary in Shippensburg

17 June 2024- One adult is in custody after Pennsylvania State Police say he and two juveniles tried to break into a home near Burd and N Washington Street in Shippensburg. Reneer Romeo Isaac is free on an unsecured bail of $10,000 bail after being charged with felony burglary, felony criminal trespassing, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor marijuana possession, and citation criminal mischief.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to a possible burglary in progress around 12:15am on June 16th in the area of the 200 block of E Burd Street. Troopers say that they believed persons believed to be kids were trying to get into a residential business near the caller’s home. PSP confirmed this after finding a wooden basement door broken into through the center of it, with a padlock still fixed to a mount on the outside. No persons were found inside, though, and it appeared that no damage was done to the inside of the home.

After canvassing the area, Troopers say they found three individuals who matched descriptions given to them of the alleged burglars, including Reneer Isaac. Two of the people detained, though according to PSP, were juveniles. Isaac, PSP say, quickly admitted to entering the basement with the other two juveniles as he had previously lived at the home that was broken into. He did allegedly claim the charges before any additional investigation was conducted but specified that he did not damage or take anything from the home.

A search of a backpack that Isaac had on his person reportedly contained two plastic bags containing marijuana, a black grinder, a digital scale, and a pack of Bob Marley rolling papers.

Reneer Isaac is free on an unsecured bail awaiting later court dates.
