One library closed; others adapt guidelines

WAYNESBORO—The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library is closed until further notice as a result of a positive COVID-19 test, according to library officials.

In a social media post, the library is suggesting those who may have come into contact with COVID get tested.

“We recommend getting a precautionary COVID test if you visited the library’s circulation desk on Nov. 9 or Nov. 10,” the post stated.

The library’s online and virtual programs will continue.

As of Monday, the Franklin County Library System has issued new guidelines including:

Browsing of library stacks is temporarily suspended and books can be reserved by calling in advance; computer and small room usage is suspended until further notice; and curbside service is available at all branches for patrons who choose not to enter the library.

Library-goers are encouraged to call their local branch before setting out to confirm open hours.
